The Linked Open Data—Libraries, Archives and Museums (LOD-LAM) research group at the School of Library and Information Science, Kent State University, was established in 2011 with an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grant.
Led by Drs. Marcia Lei Zeng and Karen F. Gracy, the MV-Junction project aimed to address the question of how libraries can benefit from the data and metadata resources via the Linked Open Data universe by providing a bridge that helps connect libraries and users to these resources.

Project resources generated by the research team included: 1) analyses and alignments of metadata terms used by communities and data providers in particular domains, such as philosophy, music, archives, visual resources, and museum objects, and 2) tools to help librarians discover matched metadata terms and analyze bibliographic information for the purposes of generating data points that can be connected to Linked Data resources. 3) A number of student projects have also been produced under the LOD-LAM umbrella.
