Linkability: Defining Linkability

What does the term "Linkability" Meen?

The term 'linkability" is coined by the LOD-LAM Reseach group to quantify and describe the pottential of a metadata or cataloging element to be used as linked data.

Linkability determines how readily libraries can augment access to information sources via relevant Linked Data datasets through their RDF vocabularies (in other words, the schemas those datasets have used).

One of the key tasks of the research project was to find linkable elements from library bibliographic data that will allow library data to be linked with those available information sources for the types of material studied.
